We operate our vehicle rental business globally primarily through the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands from company-owned, licensee and franchisee locations in the United States (“U.S.”), Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and New Zealand. We also sell vehicles through Hertz Car Sales and operate the Firefly vehicle rental brand and the Hertz 24/7 car sharing business in international markets. We offer multiple brands in order to provide customers a full range of rental services at different price points, levels of service, offerings and products. Each of our brands generally maintains separate airport counters, reservations, marketing and other customer contact activities. We achieve synergies across our brands by, among other things, utilizing a single fleet and fleet management team and combined vehicle maintenance, vehicle cleaning and back office functions, where applicable. Our top-tier brand, Hertz, is one of the most recognized brands in the world offering premium services that define the industry.
