Square, a mobile payment service provider for small businesses, raised $243 million by offering 27 million shares at $9, below the range of $11 to $13.
Based in San Francisco, Square is led by CEO Jack Dorsey, who also serves as CEO of Twitter (NYSE: TWTR).
Square plans to list on the NYSE under the symbol SQ. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Jefferies, RBC Capital Markets and Stifel acted as lead managers on the deal.
