Floor & Decor Holdings, a hard surface flooring retailer with 45 warehouse-format locations in the US, filed on Friday with the SEC to raise up to $100 million in an initial public offering.
Floor & Decor was bought by Ares Management and Freeman Spogli in 2010. Ares (ARES) has traded down 19% since its May 2014 IPO. The PE firm was behind Smart & Final Stores (SFS), a warehouse-style grocer that went public in September and has traded up over 20% since then. Freeman Spogli has also been active in the IPO market, backing El Pollo Loco (LOCO; up over 150% since July) and last week's Boot Barn (BOOT; up 7%).
The Smyrna, GA-based company, which was founded in 2000 and booked $539 million in sales for the 12 months ended September 30, 2014, plans to list on the NYSE under the symbol FND. Floor & Decor Holdings initially filed confidentially on May 30, 2014. BofA Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, J.P. Morgan, Jefferies, Credit Suisse and Wells Fargo Securities are the joint bookrunners on the deal. No pricing terms were disclosed.
