Spirit Finance, a REIT that invests in single tenant commercial real estate, filed on Thursday with the SEC to raise up to $500 million in an initial public offering. The Scottsdale, AZ-based company, which was founded in 2003, first became a public company in December 2004, and was subsequently taken private in August 2007 by Macquarie Bank and Kaupthing Bank. Spirit Finance booked $291 million in sales for the 12 months ended June 30, 2011 and plans to list on the NYSE. Morgan Stanley is the lead underwriter on the deal. No pricing terms were disclosed.
