The year's IPO count climbed to a post-2000 high on Wednesday. The six pricings yesterday brought the annual total to 218, surpassing both 2007's 213 and 2004's 217. The proceeds raised during the year also broke above $50 billion last night for the first time since 2000, thanks in large part to the $2.4 billion raised in Hilton Worldwide's (HLT) upsized offering.
With four IPOs still scheduled to price, the 218 IPOs this year have raised $53.5 billion and have produced an average return of 32%.
